German Red Cabbage

Ingredients
1 head red cabbage shredded2 granny smith apples peeled and cubed1/4 cup sugar3 tablespoons water2 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup vinegar1/4 teaspoon ground clovesSalt & Pepper to taste
Directions
Comine all ingredients in a large heavy pot. Season with salt, pepper and cloves. Bring water to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook for 2 hours. Serve warm
