Cabbage & Rice

Ingredients
Head of Cabbage - choppedLarge Onion chopped1 lb Ground beef2 Cups uncooked rice2 small cans del monte tomato sauce2 cans chciken broth1/2 stick of butterSalt & pepper to tase.
Directions
place 1/2 cabbage in layer on bottom of heavy pan (dutch oven works well)

top with 1/2 of onion

combine beef, raw rice, tomoato sauce and salt & pepper, put on top of onions/cabbage in pan (be sure beef mixture does not touch to the sides of the pan)

top with remaining onions, then cabbage.

slice butter and lay over top of cabbage

Weigh cabbage down with glass pie plate or pot lid of some kind in bigger pot

pour chicken broth down sides of pot.

bring to a boil and reduce to simmer till cabbage is tender - about 60-90 minutes.
