Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Ingredients
2.25 c. All Purpose Flour2 t. ground ginger1 t. baking soda.75 t. ground cinnamon.5 t. ground cloves.25 t. salt.75 c. margarine(softened)1 c. white sugar1 egg1 T. water.25 c. molasses2 T. white sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350*... sift together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt... set aside... in a large bowl cream together margarine, 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy... beat in the egg, then stir in the water & molasses... gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the molasses mixture... shape dough into walnut sized balls & roll them in the remaining 2 T. of sugar... place cookies 2 inches apart onto an un-greased cookie sheet & flatten slightly... Bake for 8-10 min in pre-heated oven... allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely... Store in a air tight container...
