Curry Channa (low salt)

Ingredients
SaltBlack PepperThymeParsleyPimentoBasilGarlic Onion2 tbsps Chief Brand Curry Channa2 cups of dried ChannaOlive Oil2 cups of water
Directions
Soak the channa in of a bowl of lukewarm water for at least 60 minutes.
Drain the channa (chick peas) and buss them with some garlic and onions and a bit of water in a pressure cooker.
When they buss, drain the chick peas and put them in a bowl. Keep the channa water to be reused.
Heat the chopped garlic, pimento and onion in heated oil.
Heat the 2 tbsp of curry in the heated mixture, take care not to scorch it.
Put in the cooked drained channa and the rest of the ingredients.
Stir frequently and add water as needed to make sure it does not stick.
Cook until tender.
Serve with curry bodi, rice or curry potatoes and roti

    I make similar to this. Sometimes I add potato
    [only one error, it should read Chief Curry Powder, not Channa] but reading the recipe makes it obvious.
    Occasionally add a pepper to it as my dad loves things hot! - 3/17/13

    oops sill me. Thanks. My mum does not like it too hot so I don't add the pepper

    This is not a 'low salt' dish, it might be compared to the original but it's not low enough for someone on a low salt diet. Adding salt to a low salt dish is certainly a no-no.
    'Reduced salt' would be a better description, only to make it easier for people who are looking for genuine low salt dishe - 8/8/13
