Sugar Plum Bread

Ingredients
24 dried pitted prunes1 cup water1 cup sugar1/4 cup shortening3/4 tsp salt1/2 tsp ground cloves1/2 tsp ground nutmeg1/2 tsp ground cinnamon1 egg, beaten2 cups flour2 1/2 tsp baking powder
Directions
Combine prunes, water, sugar, shortening and salt in a saucepan. Cook for 5 minutes; cool for 10 minutes.
Add beaten egg. Combine flour and baking powder. add to mixture in saucepan. Turn into a greased loaf pan.

Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
