Ingredients
Directions
2 15oz cans of garbanzo beans (chick peas)Olive oilSaltLemon juiceWhite pepper
Strain and rinse your garbanzo beans. Put them in a pot, and fill with clean water until they're just covered. Put on medium heat JUST until the beans come to a boil. Remove from heat immediately.
Strain beans, but keep the water. Add beans to a food processor and begin to blend. Add salt, lemon juice, and pepper SLOWLY, pausing to taste frequently. Once you have the desired flavor profile, slowly drizzle olive oil into blending mixture until it is the desired consistency.
If you have added more oil than you'd like, or prefer thinner hummus, use the water you cooked the beans in to loosen your hummus.
