Minestrone Soup

Ingredients
2 Tbsp Butter3/4 cup chopped onion1/2 cup chopped celery1/2 cup chopped carrots1 (14.5 oz) can of Cannellini beans1 cup chopped cabbage1 (14.5 oz) can of stewed tomatoes1 Tbsp tomato paste1 1/2 cups cubed potatoes1 quart chicken broth2 cloves garlic, minced2 Tbsp dried parsley1 tsp salt1/2 cup elbow macaroni1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions
melt butter over med heat, add onion, celery and carrots: saute for few minutes. Add remaining ingred EXCEPT macaroni and parmesan cheese. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add pasta and simmer for 30 minutes more. Add parmesan cheese before serving.
