Cloverleaf buns

Ingredients
5 cups white flour1 tbsp baker's yeast1 tsp white sugar1/4 white sugar2 cups water1/2 tsp baking powder1 tsp salt
Directions
Mix together 1 cup warm water, 1 tbsp baker's yeast and 1 tsp. white sugar, site aside and let rise (approx. 5 minutes).
Cream 1/2 cup of shortening, 1/4 white sugar.
Add yeast mixture into a large mixing bowl.
Sift salt, baking powder and 1 cup of white flour. Add to yeast mixture. Mix well.
Add another cup of warm water. Slowly blend in remaining flour. Knead well. Set aside until it doubles in size. Make 36 balls. Place 3 balls in each muffin cup. Bake at 350 F
