Chocolate Cake and Frosting

Ingredients
Cake2 c. sugar1 3/4 c. flour3/4 c. cocoa powder1 1/2 tsp. baking powder1 1/2 tsp. baking soda1 tsp. salt1/2 c. applesauce1 c. skim milk1/2 corn oil2 tsp. vanilla extract1 c. boiling waterFrosting1 Smart Balance Buttery Stick2/3 c. cocoa powder3 c. powdered sugar1/3 c. skim milk1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Cake:
Heat oven to 350. Mix dry ingredients. Add applesauce, milk, oil, vanilla. Stir in boiling water. Pour into prepared pans. Bake 20-30 min or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool cakes before frosting.

Frosting:
Melt butter, mix with cocoa. Add powdered sugar and milk. Beat on medium to spreading consistency. Stir in vanilla.

Serving Size: Make (2) 9 inch cakes, 8 servings each.
