Spicy Lentil Soup

Ingredients
1 cup dried lentils28 oz can crushed tomatoes1 T olive oil1 carrot, chopped1 medium onion, chopped5 cloves garlic, sliced1 red pepper, chopped5 cups water2 T balsamic vinegarcoarse saltground pepperred pepper flakes
Directions
Saute onion and garlic in oil. Add carrots and pepper, stir and cook 3 minutes. Add water, lentils, tomatoes and spices. Cook 45 minutes.
