Ingredients
Directions
1 Lb Ground Turkey- (I used Butterballs 91/9)2- 28oz cans of Crushed Tomato- Tradition uses whole tomato but we like it thick.3 fresh garlic cloves chopped2 tbsp. fresh chopped basil1-2 tbsp of Honey1 tsp of salt1 tsp of Black Pepper1/4 tsp. of crushed red pepper1 tsp. of oregano1 cup chopped mushroom
Heat oil in a large pot on med-high and add garlic. Sauté until just aromatic about 10-15 seconds and add tomatoes. Do not burn the garlic or it will make your sauce bitter.
cook about 10 minutes and add herbs, honey, salt & peppers.
Take a separate pan and rub with a paper towel dabbed in olive oil to just coat the surface. Heat mushrooms on med-high and stir until softened and add
ground turkey. Cook until no longer pink and add to the sauce. Keep the sauce on med-low and covered stirring frequently for about 45 minutes to an hour. Longer if you want it to be the best.
