Beef chuck, arm pot roast, 8 ozCarrots, raw, 2 cup, choppedCelery, raw, 2 stalk, medium Onions, raw, 1 largeGreen Beans (snap), 1 cup*Tomatoes, canned, 1.5 cupGarlic, 2 clovesBay Leaf, 1 tbsp, crumbled*Potato, raw, 2 medium Basil, 1 tbspParsley, 1 tbspBeef broth, 5 cupBarley, pearled, raw, 0.5 cupPepper, black, 0.5 tspSalt, 1 1/2 tsp.Yellow Sweet Corn, Frozen, 1 cup kernelsWater, tap, 3 cup (8 fl oz)
Use a 5 to 6 quart crock pot for this recipe.
Add everything but the barley to the crock-pot. Add the water 1 1/2 inches of the top of the crock-pot: Stir. Cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours. Two hours before serving, add the barley and continue cooking.
Serving Size: Makes 8 1-cup servings
