chinese Green pepper steak with onions

Ingredients
2lbs round steak sliced to 3 x 1/8 in strips1/4 cup canola oil1 clove of garlic minced1tsp salt1tsp ground ginger1/2 tsp black pepper3 cups onions thinly sliced1/4 cup corn starch for thickening juice1/2 cup water1 cup beef broth diluted1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce1/2 tsp Splenda3 bell peppers slicedBrown rice cooked
Directions
partially freeze steak; slice diagonally across the grain into 3"x1/8 inch strips
heat oil in large skillet; saute garlic,salt,ginger and pepper until garlic is golden
add steak and cook 5 minutes or until browned
remove meat and set aside
add sliced onions and cook 5 minutes
combine cornstarch and water; mix well
return meat to skillet
add cornstarch mixture, broth,soy sauce and sugar
simmer until sauce thickens
stir in green peppers and cook 5 mins

serve over hot brown rice

    Did not use splenda. I also changed the recipe to use ground turkey instead of beef. Also added asian spices - and Fish sauce. Turned out good. - 4/18/13
