Ingredients
2-1/2 c sifted flour4 tsp. baking sode2 tsp. cinnamon1/2 tsp. nutmeg1 tsp. salt1 cup walnuts2 eggs1 cup soft butter2 tsp. vanilla1 tsp. sugar substitute4 cups fresh grated applies
Directions
Mix and sift all dry ingredients. Add butter, vanilla, eggs and sugar substitute. Beat until well blended. Stir in grated apples and nuts. Pour into well greased 13x9 pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Cut into 2 x 2-1/2 inch pieces

    There is clearly something missing here or a typo of tremendous magnitude. 4 tsp of baking soda and 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp sugar substitute yielded the SALTIEST apple walnut baked "thing" you could ever imagine. It wasn't cake and it wasn't bread and unfortunately it wasn't even edible. Recheck !!! - 2/12/17
