Renee's Bread Pudding

Ingredients
4 slices bread 2 TBLS margarine or butter, softened1/3 tsp. ground cinnamon1/4 cup raisins3 eggs, slightly beaten1/3 cup granulated sugar1 tsp. vanilladash of salt2 1/2 cups 1% milk, scalded
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Toast bread slices lightly. Spread slices with margarine; sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut each slice into 4 pieces. Arrange pieces sugared side up in a buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole; sprinkle with raisins. Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt; slowly stir in milk. Pour over bread.

Place casserole in square pan 9 x 9 inches, on oven rack; pour very hot water (1 in. deep) into pan. Bake until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean, 65 to 70 minutes. Remove casserole from hot water. Serve warm or cool.
