Crock pot pinto beans cooked w/bacon

1 16 oz bag of dry pinto beans. Onion to taste. I add ketchup for a little something extra. Cheap fatty bacon to add flavor. Since you don't eat the bacon-it shouldn't count right??? But you could leave out for a vegetarian dish. Just add some sort of fat or oil.
Rinse & drain beans. Soak overnight as directed on bag. Rinse & drain again and throw in crock pot with enough water to cover. I add extra water if I will be out all day so they don't get dried out. Add bacon, onion, ketchup and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high 3-4 hours or until beans are your desired firmness.
