Old Fashioned Beef Stew Slow Cooker Style

Ingredients
2 lbs. beef stew meat cut into cubes1 bay leaf1 T worcestershire sauce1/4 tsp. black pepper1 tsp. salt1 lb. carrots, peeled and sliced1 1/2 lbs. all purpose pototatoes, peeled and diced1 medium onion, diced4 cups beef broth1/4 cup corn starch1/4 cup water
Directions
Put beef, spices, and vegetables in a slow cooker. Pour beef broth over. Stir then cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Turn control to high. Dissolve corn starch in water; stir into beef mixture in crockpot. Remove bay leaf. Cover and cook on high 10-15 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Makes eight 1 1/4 cup servings.

    Agreed, seemed to be missing something flavorwise. Was thinking red wine also for some body, it was a little bland. Aldo, watch your slow cooker size! Mine has always been big enough for recipes, but this overflowed it. Will have to half the recipe next time. - 1/17/14
