Cheddar Garlic Biscuits

2 cups all purpose flour4 tsp. baking powder1/2 tsp. cream of tartar1/2 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. granulated garlic1/4 tsp. dry mustard1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper1 stick butter, cut into cubes1 cup grated extra sharp cheddar cheese1 cup 1% milk3 T melted butter
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray a large cookie sheet with cooking spray. Set aside
Using a whisk, stir together the flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, salt, granulated garlic, dry mustard and cayenne pepper. Put butter cubes into dry mix and cut in with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in grated cheddar.
Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in 1 cup milk Mix gently until just holding together.
Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet. Brush tops with melted butter.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
Makes 15 biscuits.
You could make the biscuits smaller but we like them big!
