Ingredients
3/8 cup canola oil3/4 cup brown sugar1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce1 tsp vanilla extract3/4 cup all-purpose flour3/4 cup whole-wheat flour1 tsp baking soda1/2 tsp salt3 cups steel-cut oats3/4 cup raisins3/4 cup dark chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Oil a cookie sheet and set aside.

Mix the oil, sugar, applesauce, and vanilla until well combined. In a separate bowl, combine the flours, baking soda, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mix gradually, to avoid over-mixing.

Mix in the oats, then the raisins and chocolate chips. When the add-ins are evenly distributed, drop the batter by heaping tablespoonfuls on an oiled cookie sheet. Before placing the cookies in the oven, tap the drops of dough until they are flattened.

Bake for 10 minutes. When they're done, the bottoms will be browned--but don't worry if they're still gooey. Allow to cool on a rack, and enjoy!
