Slow Cooker Super Low Sodium Tomato/Meat Sauce

15 Roma Tomatoes (chopped)2 Small Onions (finely chopped)4.5 tsp minced garlic3 Tbl Extra Virgin Olive OilMrs. Dash (R) Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend, 4 Tbl (to taste) .5 tsp Cayenne Pepper1 Can Hunts Tomato Paste - 100% Natural1 pound 96% Lean Ground Beef
Put crock pot on low.
Cover bottom with olive oil and put in the garlic and onion. Let them cook down a little while you chop the tomatoes.
Chop tomatoes (coarsely chopped is fine - they will break down a lot as they cook).
Dump in the tomatoes
Sprinkel with Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend, and .5 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Stir to incorporate all the ingredients.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
In the last hour, add 1 can of Hunts Tomato Paste and 1 pound of cooked/crumbled ground beef.
Serving Size: Makes approx. 8 1-cup servings

Being on the D.A.S.H. Diet I really appreciate this recipe. Add some whole grain or veggie pasta and I don't have to give up some of my favorite dishes. I did have to cut the Mrs. Dash seasoning in half and eliminate the cayenne pepper because it was too spicy for me (had my sinuses running). - 4/22/17
