Broth Based Beef Chili with Beans

1 cup raw celery, diced1 cup raw onion white or yellow, diced1 cup raw green pepper, diced2 15oz (approx) cans of diced tomatoes2 15 oz cans of kidney beans rinsed and drained1 lb lean ground beef2 TBSP chili powder (or more to taste)1-2 tsp salt45 oz water
Prep celery, onion and green peppers. Brown beef approximately 1/2 way through on COOK function of your slow cooker. If you don't have a cook function on your slow cooker, you can do this part in a skillet. After beef is cooked ABOUT 1/2 way through, add 1 teaspoon of salt and the celery onion and peppers. Cook meat and vegetables until the vegetables are tender, about 15 minutes. Add kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder and the water. Simmer on low setting of slow cooker no less than 1 1/2-2hrs. Adjust chili powder to your desired taste.
