Crockpot New England Clam Chowder

Ingredients
2 cups Hormel bacon bits2 medium onions, chopped5 cans of Clams (6.5 oz. each, chopped), drained and reserve the liquid3 potatoes, cubed2 cans (12 oz. each) evaporated milksalt and pepper to taste
Directions
Cook and Stir bacon and onion in medium skillet until onions are tender. Place in crockpot. Add enough water to reserved clam liquid to make 3 cups. Pour into crock and add poatoes, garlic and pepper. Cover; cook on low 5-8 hours or on high 1-3 hours. Turn slow cooker to low and mix in reserved clams and milk. Cover; cook 30-45 minutes. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
