Slow-Cooker Split Pea and Ham Soup

Ingredients
1 bag split peas (I used Goya)1 large sweet onion, chopped 2 large carrots, chopped2 stalks celery chopped3 tsp. fresh thyme, chopped1 bay leaf3 c Kitchen Basic Unsalted Chicken Stock (you could sub water, but this makes extra flavorful soup)1 tbsp black pepper3 cups ham (I just stuck the bone part in, but you can cube it if you'd like)
Directions
Pour split peas into slow cooker. Place ham on top, followed by chopped vegetables, thyme, bay leaf, and pepper. Pour stock over everything, and cook for 8 hours on low. Remove ham bones (if necessary) before serving.
