Indian-style Fried Cabbage

Ingredients
1/2 pound bacon, diced3 tablespoons butter or margarine1/2 medium head cabbage, chopped1 cup chopped celery1 green bell pepper, choppedsalt & pepper to taste1 (4.5 oz) can mushrooms, with liquid1 onion, chopped
Directions
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until crisp. Stir in butter, cabbage, celery, green pepper, salt, pepper, mushrooms and onions. Cover skillet and steam for 15 to 20 minutes. Stir several times during the course of steaming. Makes 8 servings.
