Dark Chocolate Brownies

1 cup flour3/4 cup dutch process dark cocoa1/2 t. baking powder1/4 t. salt1 cup unsweetened applesauce1 large egg6 large egg whites2 t. vanilla2 c. sugar3 T. chopped walnuts or pecans
1. Preheat oven to 350. LIghtly spray 9x13 pan with pam. Set aside.
2. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. In large mixing bowl, whisk applesauce, egg, egg whites and vanilla til thoroughly combined. Add sugar and whisk til sugar dissollved. Add dry ingredients and whisk until just moistened (20-25 seconds). Don't overmix or will be tough and rubbery.
4. Pour batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake 30-35 min or until brownies just begin to pull away from pan. Store in pan lightly covered with foil.
