Savory South African style cornbread

Ingredients
1 cup wholemeal flour1 cup course yellow cornmeal3 Tbsp sugar1 Tbsp baking powder1 tsp salt1/2 tsp black pepper1 cup grated low fat cheddar cheese1 cup low fat buttermilk8 Tbsp low fat margarine spread1 med egg1/4 cup tinned yellow corn
Directions
Turn oven onto 190 degrees Celsius. Mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, salt, pepper and cheese together. Add the other ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until all ingredients are well blended. Spray either a loaf tin or 12 cup muffin pan. Bake until golden brown on top and a knife comes out clean.
