Ingredients
2 1/2 c whole wheat flour1/2 c white flour2 Tbs. butter1 c skim milk or buttermilk1 Tbs. baking powder1/2 tsp salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 425. Mix dry ingredients. Cut in butter--I like to do it by hand to make a course meal. slowly add milk and mix just until blended. Roll out on a floured wooden board and cut in 2 1/2 in. diameter circles, OR (easy way) make as drop biscuits by putting about 2 Tbs of batter on baking Sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes in center rack. If they're brown on bottom at 10 minutes but not completely cooked, turn the biscuits, turn oven off, and replace them for 5 minutes.

I followed the recipe exactly (using buttermilk) and these turned out GREAT! They were a tad dry but I like dry biscuits. I added low-sugar raspberry jam... yum! - 12/6/09

I want to make these, if I substituted heavy whipping cream would it affect the recipe and will it make the carb count lower? - 1/17/09
