Mexican Pinto Beans

Ingredients

1 lb dried pinto beans15 oz tomato sauce15 oz water1.5 c chopped cooked ham or bacon1 clove garlic1 tsp onion powder1 tsp garlic powder3/4 tbsp New Mexico chili powder
1.Rinse, sort, and pick through dried beans.
2. Cover beans with water. Soak for 6 hours or more.
3. Drain and rinse beans.
4.Put beans and all other ingredients into lg clean pot.
5. Add fresh water to just above bean mixture.
6. Simmer on stove top for around 2 hours, or until beans will mash with fork, or in crockpot on low for 10-12 hours.
Serving Size: Make 8 1-cup servings
