Split Pea and Ham Soup

Ingredients
1 Lb. Dry Split Peas3 Quarts Water1 Cup Ham Cubes1.5 Cup Raw Onion1.5 Cup Finely Chopped Carrots1 Cup Celery1/2 tsp Dry Oregano1/4 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper1 Tbsp Chopped Garlic6 Tbsp Ham Base
Directions
Combine ingredients in large pot. Bring contents to boil. Lower to simmer and cook 3 to 3.5 hours until a just thickened. Can be blended to make for a smoother texture.
