I made a few minor subs: unsalted butter for margarine, 2 egg whites for one of the eggs, added 2 c chocolate chips instead of 1, and made about 5-dozen medium-small cookies, making the calorie count about the same. Excellent, and hubby (who hates health food) wouldn't keep his paws off! - 5/28/08

I loooooooooooooooooooooove these. Love them. So so so good. I flattened them down first, cooked them a little longer, and flipped them over halfway through - made for a less cake-y more cookie-ish cookie. So good! - 7/21/08

Definate 5, but they do take a little longer to cook than expected. I love a chewy cookie and these fit the bill just great! - 1/29/09

The best! I have little faith in "fixed" baked goods - but these were delicious and even my very picky son ate them up!!! - 12/14/08

Yum! I give them 4.5 stars, my husb.says 3.5 because they "taste healthy" - which is why I give them 4.5! I used old fashioned oats which I'm sure contributes to that. Otherwise followed the recipe exactly, but did bake for 15 instead of 12. I enjoy the hearty flavor and it's a filling cookie. - 7/11/09

These were easy to make with my kids. They taste really good!!!! My only negative the 85 calories per cookie.. the cookies are REALLY small. Like a whole dollar.. I can use the calories somewhere eles. =[ - 1/28/11

I made these this morning. The first bite I thought, "Wow I can taste the whole wheat flour". Then by the second bite I thought "Hey, these are great". The only thing I did different was I didn't add the nuts and added 1/2 cup more of chocolate chips. And I made mine a bit smaller and baked 15 mins. - 7/24/10

i use egg beaters, and use 100% splenda, and add 1.5 tsp cinnamon. i also grind the oats in the food processor before adding which makes it a smoother texture, which my husband prefers. and i bake at 375 for 14 min. then place on papertowels to cool which absorbs some grease. - 8/30/09

Just made these and I love them!
I made some of them too big, but the little ones are perfect sized and filing! Sweet- but not overwhelmingly so.

    Thanks! - 9/23/08

Delicious. Will definitely make again. I am also going to try it with raisins instead of chocolate chips. - 7/6/08

I love that these were made with whole wheat flour. I also added chunky peanut butter and raisins to the second batch. Very good! - 11/24/09

I made this recipe using all organic ingredients and it turned out fabulous! I even submitted them for our work bake sale and they were the first cookies to go! - 4/24/10

Yummy yummy! These went from having a noticeable whole-wheat flavor when warm (good or bad depends on your preference, but I knew hubby wouldn't stand for it!) to perfect sweetness when cooled. So stop being so greedy and wait for them to cool off before you stuff them in your mouth. - 2/1/10

Very good, but I think they need to be smaller than I made them! I only got 30 cookies. - 11/22/08

Mmmm smells so good in my house right now! These turned out pretty good. A chewy cookie. I used baking stones, and these needed to be in the oven for about 16 minutes. We'll see what the boyfriend thinks of them tomorrow! - 3/31/08
