Slow Cooker Chicken Wild Rice Hot Dish

Ingredients
4 cups wild rice, uncooked1 cup onions, chopped 1 cup celery, chopped 4 cups chicken, cooked & shredded 12 cups chicken broth, 98% fat-free5 7oz mushrooms, canned stems & pieces - drained2 tsp pepper2 tsp salt2 tsp garlic, minced2 tbsp parsley, dried1 cup almonds, sliced & toasted
Directions
Wash and drain rice. Combine all ingredients except almonds, in slow cooker. Stir well. Cover. Cook on low 4 hours or until rice is tender. DO NOT lift up lid until rice has cooked at least 4 hours. Stir well, serve hot and garnished with a few toasted almonds.
