7 cups very cold water12 bags orange pekoe tea1 3/4 cups hot water1/2 cup granulated sugar3 tbsp lemon juice
Put tea bags in glass jug, pour 7 cups of very cold water over top and let steep in refrigerator at least 5 hours or overnight.
remove tea bags. (do not squeeze them)
Measure 1/2 cup sugar in a 2 cup measuring cup and fill the rest of the way with hot water. Stir to dissolve.
Makes 9, 1 cup servings.
Add the sugar water and the lemon juice to the tea.
This method creates a clear crisp tea with no sediment on the bottom. Keeping the tea bags cold prevents cloudiness and bitterness.
