Brussels Sprouts Roasted on the Stalk, Trader Joes

16 oz Brussels sprouts1 T maple syrup (reduced from 3/4 cup)1 tsp olive oil (reduced from 1/4 cupfresh cracked black peppersea salt cling wrap (optional)Garnish: dry cranberries or fresh pomegranate seeds
Per Trader Joes:
Preheat oven 350. Trim stalk of any unsightly parts. Rise well in fresh water. Wrap in cling wrap and heat in microwave on high for 4 or 5 min.
Whisk maple syrup and olive oil together. Place stalk on a roasting pan and pour maple syrup over; season to taste with salt & pepper. Roast for 45 min or until sprouts are fork tender.
Garnish with fresh pomegranate seeds or dried cranberries.
Modifications: Use sprouts sliced in half and microwave or boil in water for 2 minutes and remove. Combine ingredients but set oven to 400 and bake for 15 minutes
