1 tbsp shortening2 cups self-rising corn meal1/2 cup self-rising flour1 cup buttermilk (or enough to make pancake-batter-consistency)
1. Preheat oven to 425.
2. Grease a cast iron skillet with shortening.
3. Mix corn meal and flour well. Add enough buttermilk to get to right consistency. Pour into skillet.
4. Bake 25 minutes. Flip out of skillet immediately.
