1/2 C uncooked basmati rice1/2C water1/2 large onion, chopped1 tsp salt1/2 tsp celery seed 1/2 tsp black pepper1 tsp garlic powder1 lb ground turkey 1 Tbsp canola oil Sauce 1 small can tomato sauce 2 Tbsp brown sugar1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
Combine rice, water, onion and seasonings.
Incorporate turkey
Sahpe into balls - should make 20 meatballs
Brown meatballs in oil
In medum bowl combine tomato sauce, water, brown sugar and worcestershire sauce untl sugar is dissolved
pour over meatballs and bring to to boil
reduce heat, cover and simmer about an hour

I made these tonight and they were great!! I grew up on a meal basically the same but with beef and no brown sugar. The sugar adds an extra flavor that is excellent!! I used instant brown rice and it cooked perfectly. I also added a little extra garlic salt. We will be having this meal often. - 4/6/08
