Star Island Chili (Made with Turkey)

Ingredients
2 Tbsp Olive Oil3 Sweet Bell Peppers, chopped2 Small Onions, chopped4 Cloves Garlic, chopped1 lb Ground Turkey1 28-ounce can of diced tomatoesHalf a 6-ounce can of tomato paste2 Tbsp Chili Powder1.5 Tsp Sugar1 Tsp SaltPepper to tasteA pinch of red pepper, if you like heat1 bay leaf0.5 Tsp Cumin0.5 Tsp Dried Basil2 16-ounce cans of red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Directions
1. Heat olive oil in big pot, add peppers, onions, garlic, and cook for 5 minutes, until they begin to soften. Remove to bowl (you probably don't have to remove them, could just throw the turkey in on top).
2. Put turkey in pot, brown while stirring to break it up.
3. Add cooked veggies back in, add rest of ingredients EXCEPT beans.
4. Simmer until liquid thickens (~30 mins)
5. Add rinsed and drained beans, heat through.
6. Serve! Good with corn bread, a sprinkle of grated cheese, and/or a dollop of sour cream.
