Turkey Tetrazzini

  • Number of Servings: 9
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil1 onion, finely chopped1 garlic clove, minced2 tablespoons cake flour (or all purpose, it's just what I had on hand)1 cup 2%milk10-3/4 oz cream of chicken soup1/4 teaspoon garlic salt1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce3 cups shredded monterey jack cheese (could use cheddar)2 cups precooked turkey, cut into bite sized pieces1/2 pound spaghetti noodles1/4 cup bread crumbs
Directions
Bring large pot of water to boil for noodles.

Heat oil in skillet over medium heat, add onion and garlic and saute until tender. Add flour and stir until smooth, cooking 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk. Bring to simmer and add soup, garlic salt, worcestershire sauce, turkey and 2 cups of cheese. Reduce heat and simmer on low. Meanwhile, cook noodles for 10 minutes or al dente (you don't want to overcook them because you are going to bake them in the oven and they will continue to cook in there). Drain and add pasta to turkey mixture and pour into a 13x9 casserole dish. Sprinkle top with remaining cheese and bread crumbs. Bake for 20 minutes in 350 degrees oven until bubbly. Remove, cool 10 minutes and then serve.
