Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies

2 sticks unsalted butter1.25 cup granulated sugar2 eggs.5 cup dark cocoa powder2.5 cups all purpose flourpinch of kosher salt.25 teaspoon baking powder6.5 ounces (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips1 cup large walnut pieces

Preheat the oven to 350°.
Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy and well-blended. Add the eggs and beat until blended. Next, beat in the cocoa powder. Mix in the flour, salt, and baking powder until combined. Carefully fold in the remaining ingredients.
Move the dough to a clean work surface and gently mix the dough by hand to ensure an even distribution of ingredients. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions, then place each on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Once the oven has been preheated, put the cookies in for 12 minutes being cautious not to over bake. When the cookies are golden brown, take them out of the oven and use a spatula to gently place them on a cooling rack.
