Lily's Scones

Ingredients
Directions
500g plain flour1 tsp salt2 tsp bicarbonate of soda4.5 tsp cream of tartar125g unsalted butter diced300ml milk1 x beaten egg to use as a wash (optional)
Mix all the dry ingredients then rub in the butter. Add the milk and knead into a dough.
Roll out to 3cm and use a 6cm fluted cutter to make around 16 scones.
Brush with egg if desired then bake on a tray for 10 minutes at 220 degrees celcius until risen and golden.
Serving Size: Makes around 16 scones
