Sauerkraut with bacon and apples

Sauerkraut, 2 cupsApple - Granny Smith 1 medium, choppedRaw Onion, 1/2 medium onion, choppedApplesauce, unsweetened, 1/2 cupAmber ale or stout, 6 ozBacon, 2 slices, choppedBeef Base, Better Than Bouillon, 1 tspLight Sour Cream, 3 tbspCaraway Seed, 1 tbspPaprika, 1 tspPepper, black, 1 tsp
Fry bacon until crisp, add onions and sautee until golden. Add chopped apple and spices and allow to cook for a few minutes. Add beer, apple sauce, and sauerkraut. Cook covered over low flame for about 30 minutes, until sauerkraut begins to caramelize, checking periodically to stir and make sure it doesn't burn. Add sour cream and serve.
