Sugar-Free Homemade Ketchup

Ingredients
2 cans tomatoes or 28 ounces tomato puree, tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes1/2 onion1/3 cup apple cider vinegar1 tablespoon brown rice syrup (or 2 teaspoons granulated stevia)1 teaspoon allspice1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1 teaspoon ground cloves1 teaspoon cayenne peppersalt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
Bring all the ingredients to a boil in a saucepan, stirring to dissolve all the spices. Reduce the heat and let simmer for about 50 minutes, until the sauce reduces by almost half and is quite thick. Blend with an immersion blender or in a food processor. If the ketchup is still a bit runny, return it to the heat for a little longer. Store in a clean glass jar in the fridge for up to 1 month.
