Tomato and Lentil Soup

Ingredients
3 cans tomatoes4 onions chopped1 leek chopped2 carrots chopped2 cloves of garlic crushed2 pints chicken or vegetable stock1 cup lentils2 tsp chopped thyme1 tsp sugar
Directions
Makes about 8 servings.

Chop the vegetables and saute in a large pan. Add the canned tomatoes, thyme and sugar. Cook for a few minutes. Add 2 pints of stock and 1 cup of lentils. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Serve chunky or pureed.
