1 cup dried split peas 2 cup water1 cup chicken broth (or half of each)2 slices smoked bacon (or any pork)1 cup chopped onion 1/2 tsp ginger powderdash of salt dash of pepper 1 tsp herbs de province or Marjoram
soak peas over night in 2 cups of water, cook peas in the soaking water ,skim off any foam, then add the onion pork/ham/bacon (whichever you choose) and spices and the chicken broth
cook until your preference of done-ness. 45 minutes to 1 hour
Serve with mustard. French's Honey Dijon works well.
