Ingredients
Directions
Flour, white, 1 tbspGarlic powder, 1/4 tspOnion powder, 1/8 tspBeef, round steak, 1 lbOlive oil sprayBeef broth, bouillon, consomme, .75 cupLiquid smoke, 2 tbspKraft Carb Well Barbecue Sauce, 8 tbspOnions, raw, 1 cup, slicedHamburger buns
Serves 4
In a medium plastic bag, comboine the flour, garlic and onion powders. Add the beef and shake until the beef is evenly coated. Refridgerate for at least 15 mins, but the longer the better.
Preheat a medium, non-stick skillet over med-high heat. Once hot, lightly mist the pam with spray, then add the beef, broning on all sides, about a minute per side. Turn the heat to med and add the broth and liquid smoke. Once boiling reduce the heat to low; juices need to continue to simmer with a low boil.
Cover and cook the beef, stirring occasionally, for 1 hr to 1.5 hrs, until beef is very tender and falls apart easily when mashed with a fork. Using a slotted spoon, drain the beef from any excess liquid, transfer it to a medium bowl and using a fork, seperate the peices so that the beef is somewhat shredded, then mix in barbecue sauce.
During the last 5 minutes of cooking, slightly mist another frying pan, place it over med heat, add the onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, place the bun halves, insides down, in a medium non stick frying pan over medium heat, until just toasted, about 2 to 4 minutes.
Plate each sandwich by placing the bottom of the bun down first, loading it up with meat then topping with onion and top bun!
Enjoy!!
