3.0 tbsp Butter, unsalted1.0 tbsp Canola Oil2.0 large Onions, raw5.5 cup Chicken stock, home-prepared
Slice onions in half and then into thin slices, melt butter and oil, add onions and cook over medium low heat for about 25 min. Stir often, and as a tbsp of water if they start to stick or brown, they should be soft but not browned. Add broth and bring to a simmer, simmer for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
