oatmeal chippers cookies

1/2 c butter/margarine1/2 c shortening1 c sugar1 c brown sugar2 eggs1 tsp vanilla2 c flour1 tsp baking soda1 tsp salt1 tsp cinnamon1 tsp nutmeg1 c quick rolled oats1 16oz pkg choc. chips1 c chopped walnuts
Cream together butter, shortening in bowl with electric mixer at medium speed. Add sugars gradually, beating well until light & fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg. Blend in sifted dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Stir in oats, choc. chips and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2" apart onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake 375 for 9-12 minutes. Cook on racks.
