6 onion rolls1 C shredded cheddar cheese1 8 oz block cream cheese1 1/2 stick butter10 large eggs2 C milk1 tsp fresh chives1/2 tsp dry mustarddash cayenne pepper1 tsp salt
Butter 9 x 13 pan generously. Tear up 6 onion rolls and layer in bottom of pan. Top with 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese. Add a layer of cut up or torn chunks of cream cheese. Top with a layer of slices of butter (can reduce to 1 stick).
In a bowl, mix 10 large eggs, 2 cups milk, dry mustard, cayenne pepper and salt. Add chopped chives. Mix well. Pour over bread mixture. Cover with foil, let sit in refrigerator overnight.
Bake at 325 covered for 45 minutes. Increase heat to 350 and bake additional 10-15 minutes. Take out of oven and let sit 5 minutes before serving.
