Homemade Applesauce

4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped1/2 cup of water1 tsp vanilla extract1/4 cup of sugar1/4 tsp ea of cinnamon and nutmeg
Makes aprox. 2 cups (4- 1/2cup servings). Serve either hot or cold.
Peel, core, and slice apples. Place in a large sauce pan with water and vanilla. Cover and bring to a boil...after mixture reaches a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer over low heat for aprox 20 minutes, stirring occassionally. Stir in sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and cook until it dissolves.
Mash with potato masher or blender for desired consistancy.
