Penne with Asparagus and Mushrooms

Ingredients
2 cloves garlic, minced10 oz pkg fresh mushrooms, sliced1 Bunch asparagus, trimmed and chopped1 can diced tomatoes16 oz pkg whole wheat penne1 can Cream of Mushroom soupFreshly ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
Cook pasta according to package directions. Spray a skillet with cooking spray and saute the garlic until fragrant. Place mushrooms in the skillet and saute another 5 minutes. Stir in the asparagus and cook another 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in the tomatoes and season with black pepper as desired. Reduce heat to low and simmer 20 minutes (to combine flavors). Stir in the cream of mushroom soup (or white sauce) and heat through. Serve over cooked pasta.
