1 tbsp Butter, salted 1 tbsp Crisco Pure Vegetable Oil 4 cup, cubes Butternut Squash 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions, raw 2 clove Garlic 3.5 cup Swanson Vegetable Broth (by MAYABUTTA) .3 cup, packed Brown Sugar .75 cup, chopped Carrots, raw 4 fl oz Heavy Whipping Cream .5 tbsp Hormel Bacon Bits 1 tsp Cinnamon, ground .5 tsp Nutmeg, ground .5 tsp Thyme, ground .125 oz Walnuts 1 serving Apple, Gala (medium)
Cook onions, garlic in Butter and oil until tender--do not brown. Add Vegetable broth, squash, apple, carrots ,bacon bits; cook Bring to boil, reduce to simmer--cook 40 minutes. Drain, reserving all broth. Puree vegetable mixture. Add puree to broth, add cream brown sugar and cook for 20 minutes at simmer. Serve--sprinkle 1 tsp cinnamon sugar, and walnuts on top.
